ABSTRACT

This project titled “Manpower development and employee productivity (A study of central bank of Nigeria, Awka Zonal Office). The study adopted survey design which basically relies mainly on primary and secondary sources of data. The area of the study the central bank of Nigeria was established by the CBN Act of 1958 and commercial operations on July 1, 1958. The total population of the study is 337 from all the various unit of the bank. The sample size of the study is 154. The researcher uses simple percentage method in analyzing the data. The total of 154 questionnaires was distributed to the staff of Central Bank of Nigeria, Awka. The entire questionnaires distributed were well completed and returned and data presentation and analysis is based on 154 questionnaires. The summary of findings; that the staff training and development method in use in Central Bank of Nigeria are effective. Conclusion; Staff training and development is a vital personnel management function. Recommendation, that the organization should endeavour to tailor staff training and development programmes.
