EBONYI STATE COMMUNITY- BASED POVERTY REDUCTION AGENCY AND YOUTH SKILL ACQUISITION, 2005 – 2015
ABSTRACT
This study took critical examination and evaluation of the Ebonyi State Community Based Poverty Reduction Agency and youth skill acquisition in Ebonyi State from 2005 to 2015. The study aimed broadly at establishing relationship between EBCPRC and poverty alleviation in the rural communities of Ebonyi State and specifically ascertaining whether the management of EBCPRA’s fund encouraged the provision of skill acquisition centres in Ebonyi State from 2005 to 2015 and to evaluate the impact of The building of skill acquisition centres in Ebonyi State on the youths empowerment. The structural-functional theory was our explanatory guide in the work. The descriptive survey method was adopted to elicit data from a targeted population through questionnaire and statistically analyzed. Primary and secondary data was used. Logical conclusions was made based on the rfact that the hypotheses tested was accepted. Finally, recommendations was made as: The donor agencies, international organizations, government and non-governmental organizations should not relent in funding EBCPRA so as to ensure a total eradication of poverty in Ebonyi State. The youths should be encouraged to participate in the skill trainings of the skill acquisition centres. Ebonyi State government should endeavor to establish the youths who have completed their training with the working tools. Soft loans and grants should be made available to the youths after their training so as to start their own enterprise.
