EFFECT OF WORK ATTITUDE OF NIGERIA WORKERS (A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF PUBLIC LIABILITY COMPANY, (PLC) AND PRIVATE LIMITED COMPANY LTD IN ASABA. 

ABSTRACT

The study investigated the effect of work attitude of Nigerian worker; with a comparative study of public liability company and private limited company in Asaba, Delta State Nigeria. The methodology of the research is descriptive survey design. The success or failure of human resources management lies on the ability of managers to effectively and efficiently monitor the capabilities of workers in the organization. The broad objective of this study is to investigate the effect of work attitude of Nigerian workers with a comparative study of public liability companies. Descriptive research design guided the activities of this study. The total population of the study is 200 participants. Frequency distribution and contingency table was used in the analysis of the data generated. Based on the analyses, the findings showed that there was no significance difference in work attitude between the public and private sectors, and as such, what motivates an individual is simply personal regardless of which of the sector. The set of workers mostly affected are the junior likened to the fact that the junior workers are being paid less attention, at the work place. The researcher concluded that Nigerian workers have the same attitude, as no significance difference was found in their attitude to work. The researcher hereby recommends that both public and private sector employers should concentrate more on training of competent personnel.
